The roles comprise the following responsibilities
Working closely with the Chief Executive Officer, the Development Manager will take responsibility for strategically developing the organisation’s visibility and revenues through a variety of initiatives. The person will strengthen the public profile of the organisation through a comprehensive communication plan to promote the organisation and maximize the public awareness of the organization, exploring the development of new services, developing collaborations with other entities, tapping EU and other funding opportunities and supporting donor relations. The Development Coordinator will also strengthen the public profile of the organisation through a comprehensive communication strategy and a re-branding exercise.
The Development Officer will take a supporting role in the implementation of responsibilities related to the organisation’s development objectives in terms of service development, visibility and funding opportunities.
Attributes, Knowledge and Skills
Ideal candidates would be organised, well planned and have excellent people skills; they would demonstrate a positive disposition and a ‘can do’ attitude, having a creative flair and proactive approach towards the assigned responsibilities. A sensitivity to mental health issues and a strong drive towards improving the quality of life of the Maltese population are essential.
Having achieved a tertiary level of education in Social Policy, Social Work, European Studies, Communications, Buisiness Studies or a related area, the ideal persons would preferably have some experiece working with NGOs. Having occupied a similar position with direct input in fundraising, marketing and communications would be considered a definite asset.
