Mental Health Walk 2015

“An approach to mental illness that incorporates dignity is the reverse of an approach that was widespread for many years – an approach that was based on social stigma and discrimination, and failed to recognize mental disorders as illnesses that deserve the same care and attention as physical illnesses.” (taken from WFMH Bulletin 2015)

The Richmond Foundation (VO/0017) is holding its annual fundraising and awareness walk on Sunday the 17th of May 2015, along the Sliema/St. Julian’s promenade. The chosen theme is ‘Dignity in Mental Health’ (in line with this year’s theme by the World Federation for Mental Health), and will commence at around 10:00 – 10:30hrs from Bisazza Street all the way to the Love Monument and back.

Participants are encouraged to register beforehand by sending an email to info@richmond.org.mt or contact 21224580. A minimum donation of €10 is encouraged which will entitle participants to €1 parking all day at Sliema Multi-Storey Car Park, water and a commemorative t-shirt. You can also register on the day between 8:30-10:00am.

Show your support! Walk with us in an attempt to eradicate the social stigma attached to mental ill health!
