Richmond Foundation receives the ISO 9001
Richmond Foundation is the first NGO in the health and social care sector which has received the ISO 9001 certificate. The certificate was awarded by the Mr. Francis E. Farrugia, Chairperson of the Malta Standards Authority to Mr. Anthony E. Guillaumier, Chairperson of Richmond Foundation. This conferment took place in the presence of Hon Chris Said Parliamentary Secretary for Consumers, Fair Competition, Local Councils and Public Dialogue. Hon Chris Said acknowledged the significant work of Richmond Foundation which promotes mental health in the community at large and supporting over 1000 persons with mental health problems a year. Hon Said explained that such award should be doubly satisfactory for the Foundation as it is the first NGO in this sector which managed to obtain such an award and moreover, the Foundation had no external pressure to achieve this certificate but wanted to get this award because it believed in its value. The certificate shows the Foundation’s commitment in providing a quality service to its users, being accountable and transparent in its operations and continually improving its services.
This certificate is not the ‘end’ in itself but a continuation of what the Foundation has managed to achieve so far. The Malta Stanards Authority will by carrying out audit on the quality management system of the Foundation and it will continue improving its services in terms of effectiveness and efficiency towards its stakeholders including persons with mental health problems and the community at large.
