Information about Mental Health

The main aims of the Supported Housing Scheme are to:


  • A typical apartment rented out to clients with mental health problems, within the Supported Housing Scheme
    Provide accommodation to those persons with chronic mental health problems who are dependent on a mental health institution but who do not need hospitalization;






  • Provide accommodation to persons with mental health problems who are living in the community in order to prevent them from either having relapses or become institutionalized;

  • Empower tenants to become involved in the management of their homes and assist them to maintain the property and living environment at an adequate level, by facilitating the making of independent choices based on information and continuous support;

  • Develop positive partnership with the Housing Authority, Private Property Owners, Funding Bodies, Institutions and other Voluntary Agencies working in the field.

An appropriate referral form must be filled in. The Housing Allocations Committee is responsible for receiving applications and allocating apartments.
