Assisted Living Manager

The Assisted Living Manger is responsible for the management of hostels providing 24-hour support to people with mental health problems.  This role offers an exciting opportunity to make direct impact on the lives of individuals in need of supportive accommodation and care, helping them achieve greater independence and personal development within a community-based setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, maintain, and review supportive accommodation practices that empower residents, promote autonomy, and encourage their capacity for independence within and outside the service.
  • Ensure each resident has a tailored personal development plan with clear, agreed objectives that are regularly reviewed and pursued.
  • Oversee staff, volunteers, and students, providing regular supervision, training, professional development, and periodic assessments.
  • Participate in the recruitment and allocation of staff resources.
  • Ensure the service operates within agreed budget parameters, maintains full occupancy, and complies with health and safety legislation and financial standards.
  • Promote the mission of the Richmond Foundation by liaising with stator and voluntary agencies, and developing partnerships in the community to raise awareness of mental health.
  • Coordinate staff meetings, participate in collaborative review and planning, and ensure all staff are supported in their roles.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in psychology or social work or a relevant field and preferably together with a Master’s qualification in the same and/or relevant field as well as a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a leadership position.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Experience in developing and managing therapeutic services.
  • Experience in budget management would be considered an asset.
