As a Psychology Officer/Mental Health Recovery Officer, the selected candidate will play a crucial role in empowering individuals to take control of their mental health and wellbeing. The role involves providing support to individuals, helping them set meaningful goals, and fostering personal growth, independence, and resilience. The Psychology Officer/Mental Health Recovery Officer will work closely with service users to identify their strengths and challenges and assist them in overcoming barriers to improve their quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing a caseload and act as a key worker, assisting service users in creating and following a personal development plan with clear, agreed-upon goals.
- Provide short-term, action-oriented plans and interventions to individuals facing mental health or social challenges.
- Facilitate and participate in group activities and programmes that support the personal and social wellbeing of service users.
- Serve as the primary contact for individuals seeking aid through various channels, including social media, phone, email, and face-to-face interactions.
- Assess the needs of individuals and connect them with appropriate services to address barriers related to mental health, housing, and overall wellbeing.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with other agencies, fostering a better understanding of mental health difficulties and promoting collaboration in support of the recovery process.
- Manage the daily operations of the service, including scheduling appointments and coordinating follow-ups.
Requirements:
- Hold a University qualification in a caring profession such as Social Work, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Mental Health Nursing or Health Care Management.
- Highly motivated to provide practical, direct support to individuals in need.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage pressure.
- Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced setting and during crisis situations.
- Are fluent in both Maltese and English.
- Possession of a valid driving license and access to personal transport.
