The selected candidate will be assisting in the maintenance and development of all services of the Foundation in relation to processes and procedures related to medication, provision of service, compliance with local legislation whilst also providing care, guidance and information to service users when required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and monitor medication processes and procedures in all residential services of the Foundation, with frequent visits to the residences.
• Provide information, support, guidance and training related to medication, including its function and effects, administration, storage and disposal to staff and service users.
• Assist all units in identifying and rectifying risks, barriers to optimal health and non-conforming practices according to the Foundation’s policies, procedures and local legislation.
• Assist in developing intervention plans for service users, as required.
• Educating service users on various aspects of health (including nutrition, hygiene and disease prevention) as required.
• Assist and intervene as required on other general nursing duties (including the administration of vaccinations, treating wounds and injuries and checking blood sugar levels and blood pressure).

Requirements:

• A Diploma or Bachelor’s of Science (Honours) in Nursing, Mental Health Nursing or an equivalent qualification.
• Included in the register of the Council for Nurses and Midwives.
• Must possess excellent verbal and written communication in both Maltese and English.
• Be highly organised and have a strong aptitude for teamwork.
• Preference will be given to candidates having previous experience in a mental health setting.
