Youth Mental Health Barometer - 2026

Richmond Foundation has commissioned Esprimi to re-run a research exercise amongst young people aged 13-25 which had initially been carried out in 2021.
The methodology used to collect the responses was by means of online research. Among the students of secondary school age, the survey was disseminated through the online portals of secondary schools (with a mix of males and females). For the remaining ages, Esprimi created a specifically targeted social media campaign aiming to encourage young people to voice their opinion about various aspects of their lives including (but not limited to):

• Life at school
• Life at work
• General Emotions
• General Interests
• Typical Support Systems
• Perceptions of Youth Support Services
• Preferred arrangements of a space for Youth Support Services

The fieldwork period for this research project was 28th November 2025 to the 6th February 2026.

The Youth Mental Health Barometer is not just a survey – it is a platform for young people in Malta to be heard. This conference marks a key moment where evidence, youth voice, and action come together.
